If I were in the business of defending Chuck Bass, I’d say that this is a little unfair, since Dan is nearing 21 in his scene, while Chuck is still 17, immature, and hurt by Blair’s recent rejection in his scene. Once upon a time, Dan used to treat Serena the same way—instant suspicion and abandonment. But he’s changed, and we’ve watched that change happen onscreen. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of evidence to suggest present-Chuck would respond any differently from 17-year-old-Chuck if Blair were sitting on HIS couch asking him that same question.

The most fun I’ve had in years were the Dan and Blair scenes because the dialogue is given an opportunity to go where it doesn’t go with Dan otherwise, I really enjoy that. I would like to see that explored. Penn Badgley
